The Hockey India League auction was completed at the weekend with over 240 of the world’s best players available for bidding. England and Great Britain Olympic star Ashley Jackson was in high demand from the bidders.
Jackson was acquired for $73,000, making him the second highest earner in his team, The Ranchi Rhinos. Only the newly crowned FIH World Player of the Year Moritz Fuertse is being paid for ($83,000). He added, “I am delighted to be playing for the Ranchi Rhinos under Gregg Clark, also excited to play alongside a decorated Mo Fürste”.
