Pakistan Beat China 5-2 In The Second Game

Pakistan easily beat China 5-2 to win their second game of the tournament at the Asian Hockey Championships in Doha, Qatar.  They had beaten Oman by eight goals to three yesterday.

Muhammad Waqas scored in the 9th minute via a field goal to give Pakistan the lead, but China were back in the game a minute later via a comeback goal from Yang Yu.  Shakeel Abassi took Pakistan ahead via a penalty stroke in the 23rd minute, but China rallied strongly again to equalize in the 25th minute through Yi Xian Liu.  The Chinese were probably expecting to go into half time with the score tied at 2 each, but Muhammad Waqas scored in the 33rd minute to put Pakistan in the lead again.  Half time score 3-2.

Two goals from Abdul Haseem Khan in the second half sealed China’s fate.  Final score – 5-2.
